Mild cognitive impairment (MCI)

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a diagnosis that is given to individuals who have cognitive deficiencies that are greater than those that can be statistically expected for their age and education, but which do not interfere significantly with their daily activities. It is considered as the frontier or state of transition between normal ageing and dementia.

THERAPY

Since MCI may be a prodromal syndrome in symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease, treatments normally proposed for Alzheimer’s, such as antioxidants and neuroprotectors (citicoline), may prove useful.
